12th Aug1941Thurleigh: 8 50kg high explosive bombs dropped on north boundary of Thurleigh airfield causing superficial runway damage and burst watermain; 16
sep1942306th Bombardment Group arrives at Thurleigh.2
18th May1942Thurleigh: RAF aircraft crashed at airfield; 16
30th Dec1943Thurleigh: 2 British 1,000lb bombs jettisoned at Rutters Farm; 16
22nd Oct1944Thurleigh: B17 Flying Fortress from USAAF Podington collided with B17 from USAAF Chelveston [Northamptonshire] over USAAF Thurleigh; all crew killed; 16
20th Jan1944Thurleigh: during a gas exercise at Thurleigh airfield gas drifted into neighbouring fields and Arthur Filsell of Burys Field Farm was affected by gas; 16
31st Mar1944Thurleigh: British incendiaries dropped at USAAF Thurleigh; 16
6th Oct1944Thurleigh: V1 flying bomb exploded 200 yards SE of Brook Farm causing superficial damage to farm house; 16
